Greetings Esteemed Community and Fellow Pilots!
Code is proud to present another fantastic competition running in February to the pilot who can kill the most ventures in High Sec!
Two PLEX will be provided to the player who can kill the most Ventures in High Sec starting from the 1st of February through to the 28th of February.
The rules are the same as last time, but lets review them just to make sure.
Rules! 1. Venture Pilots must be unique and different players. 2. Kills must be made in High Security Space (1.0 - 0.5) 3. Anyone can participate - You do not need to be a member of the Code Alliance or The New Order.
Prizes (I am sure there will be more as this evolves) -
1st place - Two 30 day Pilot license extension
2nd place - A 30 day Pilot license extension
BONUS: There will be a gift of something special from myself for the best story involved!
I look forward to another round of content creation for Eve online courtesy of Code Alliance and am glad everyone will enjoy this player added content!. Remember this is for all players, young and old, CODE and not! Just go out and have fun!

Ventures are not much of targets... but it is the thought that counts! :) This will be fun! True, they are not. My point is a majority of CODE has scammed in the past and currently scam in eve. So what is the point in competing in this event when the hosts are not trust worthy? Like if I attempt to win this event I have no guarantee I will see those plex ever. tl;dr, CODE has not been trustworthy in the past and currently are not.
Or you can talk to the previous winners of the first Venture contest. And aside from youngest, they all were paid promptly. The youngest prize was delayed for a couple weeks due to some issues. But all were paid out within the 3 days.

Sabriz Adoudel wrote:Boom Boom Longtime wrote:Encouraging people to gank specific ships in high sec that will most likely be piloted by new players in the name of sport and / or competition.
Each to their own i guess.
Once again, this competition serves proof as to why Code as an alliance, will always be beneath Helicity Boson and not worthy of sniffing his boots never mind being granted permission to polish them.
Cut through the jargon, and this "competition" is ultimately a drive to blow up new players fresh out of the starter systems in the hope of tears.
You're welcome to argue i'm wrong in my assessment. You might get the odd newbie (and if I do, I will make certain to tell them where they can get their next free Venture from running one of the career agents they haven't run). I'm pretty sure most CODE. people will do the same, and I'd encourage non-CODE. participants to also do this. Those newbies are not the target. Ventures are the #1 most common ship banned for botting according to CCP Security figures released at last Fanfest. If it is tears you want, you don't shoot new players - they tend to just express confusion. You should instead shoot career highsec players in 0.8 and higher systems. That is where the finest vintage of tears comes from - the 3 year old character who is "peacefully mining". AC - Can you state in the OP a reminder that rookie systems are off limits, as are gates leading into them (e.g. the Vittenyn side of the Vittenyn-Trossere gate)? CODE. pilots will (probably) all know this, but the people we really want this contest to appeal to - 0-6 month old players with no experience in PVP, ganking or otherwise - may not know that they will get slapped by CCP if they pop Ventures in those systems. Also, it wouldn't hurt to post a fit or two for just those rookies that want to Venture into ganking.
Yes thank you for mentioning the rookie systems. I will edit and update for clarification.
Also the reason I like to promote this contest is so that newer players are able to get involved into other aspects of the game rather than the simple grind of "ISK to Ship" that usually seems to be. I hope that this will provide a good time for all!
And I do agree about CODE. player informing about what happened and how to prevent it, education is a basic foundation of EVE.

I recommend rocket Kestrels, or for the 100% kill even in a 1.0 use a cheapfit destroyer with blasters or rockets. You can use Atrons in .8 or lower, I've found. In fact, there should be a subcategory prize for cheapest gank boat. And most expensive gankboat, and silliest gankboat....:) I remember last time I stuffed as many smartbombs as I could on a Catalyst and tried to pop a group of those banana boats with it......IIRC it worked pretty good......:)
I love my T1 overkill "Cod-atron" I just love knowing the venture will melt like butter. But the T2 version will ensure the pod, but yes... Atrons!

Sabriz Adoudel wrote:In the event that I accidentally kill a new player in this contest (and let's face it, mistakes happen), I will give them a couple of gank-fitted ships they can fly.
Hopefully they'll discover something new in EVE, and most importantly, they discover that they have enough SP to get solo kills already if they choose their targets well. Worst case scenario, they sell it and buy another Venture.
I agree, this isn't about harassing the new players at all. We want to explain EVE to that section of players and help them understand the game better, no matter what direction they decide on. We're just to help provide a nice and simple outlet for players who are new to this game and might decide to play in their own way. Hence for this contest! The benefits for everyone!
I mean as stated previously, some of these losses I have been seeing are not new players at all. And I don't just mean SP wise. Those are the ones I hope get saved some day.

I can't remember if I stated this in game or here so saying it again.
Yes, killing a venture with another venture does count as two.
However, venture kills have to be unique, meaning this is a one time bonus.
Yet a bonus.

Anyone who participated in this contest and wishes to be entered for the prizes, please send me a mail stating the number of ventures kill with a valid zkill link for yourself. I will handle the verification of unique kills (and one unique loss is appropriate) The sooner the better clearly, the deadline will be 0000-3-4-15 Eve time. (That is March not April just to clear international date things up) Once all entries have been received prizes will be awarded to stated parties and published. Discussion on how to disperse prize will be handled via mail. (Smart people do not fly with PLEX and some might not want to enter Jita for various reasons to pick one up.) Prizes will be announced within 24 hours of the deadline (unless RL hinders it in that case a simple post providing a new timeframe will be stated but I am not expecting this, just wish to state that **** happens and so on.) Distribution of prizes will be handled once communication with the winner is confirmed. It was a great contest, and please even if you think you did not win, please provide your kills and all stories involved. Remember, there are unnamed mystery prizes involved.
I need CCP to weigh in this next statement though:
For the next Venture contest I will be holding (most likely another 4 or 5 months from now) I will be wanting to hand out a tangible real life prize in the form of a curved UHD monitor or sUHD TV. I just need confirmation that this is within the limits of the EULA. And I am serious about providing a prize like this, my alliance can confirm this and the simple reason why.
I'd like to thank everyone again for participating in this, and can not wait to announce the winner. Fun times were had by all, and I always am happy to fabricate player made content.

For some reason, it's nice to see someone enjoying the game and the social aspect so much that they'd volunteer to give away a TV as a prize.
As of this post I have received multiple entries. Still tallying up the score and awaiting the deadline. (I also might be delayed a day since I have a suite at a hockey game)
As for the RL gift, still waiting response or at least a thumbs up by CCP if this works. Something tells me someone had to contact legal to see if a good faith in game gift blah blah blah... who know but I will follow through if allowed.

GALLENTE CITIZEN 17090130 AKA EveIs ABadGame PleaseQuit, won the grand prize. A pair of PLEX. (Hopefully these stay in a station)
Carcass Jack won best in class! Way to go on some ISK and a fun mystery prize that we need to discuss (AKA your skills, as in ship.)
Super Perforator wins the most improved! This pilot has medaled in both events. I look forward to his participation in the 3rd.
(#sUHD?)
My formatting wins, for so many reasons. That I just love.

Was a terrific event, hopefully some new players learned a very cheap lesson in raining profanity and threats on honorable PVPers awareness and self defense (lol no they didn't, they should be flying untanked afk hulks by now).
Great contest, thanks for running it!
"Mister New Name" >> I would like to thank you for playing. I enjoy engaging in and adding to player content. It is always fun, plus stories.
CJ please respond to mails. (Pre-Edit: You have as of this post, I was Eve OOF/O for a while) Regardless it is in the works for you new ship.
SP: We talked about your prize before my 'schedule' was stolen. Many numbers! So WOW! Much late.
As for other news regarding contests and future contests' tangible prizes:

Ok, so a quick few updates. I was trying to drag out one of the prizes (the ship) but my plan can not happen. (My idea got messed up, all is good expect something more. Regardless, all I can state is that from now one prizes for contests will ben ISK/PLEX. And only this sadly. Expect more contests now that prizes are understood.
